1 in 37 boys and 1 in 151 girls have autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

That means there could be one or more students in each of your classrooms with autism. These children face specific challenges and stressors during the school day. As professionals working with children, we must provide them with the tools to face these obstacles healthily to increase academic success, behavior and self-esteem. When someone with ASD can bodily feel calmer and comfortable with less pain and anxiety, it becomes easier for them to control behavior, learn new skills and enjoy social interactions.
